ED SOLO Pembs Bass Lovers @ The Queens Hall, Narberth, Sat 22. Admission: £ 10. Info: www. thequeenshall. org. uk Ed Solo’ s early productions slotted cheerfully into the late-90s drum’ n’ bass scene, but over time he drifted towards nu-skool breaks, the genre which he’ s most closely associated with today. Of course,‘ nu-skool’ implies a built-in obsolescence – not much new about the fundamentals of the sound these days, which is why the likes of Ed( and pals in the scene, like Deekline and JFB) have been working hard to keep it fresh. To this end, expect Ed’ s set here in Narberth to deviate into jump-up jungle, booty bass and monster dubstep – something along the lines of his and Deekline’ s heroically peabrained Bounce & Shake mix album from earlier this year. He was dead popular at the Queens Hall in 2011, one understands, and is supported by Rigdiculous DJs tonight.
