MARK JAMES: SORRY IT’S NOT FOR YOU
Subject To Change, Castle Arcade, Cardiff, Sat 7 Dec-Fri 24 Jan
Admission: free.
Info: 07747 777994 / [email protected]
A brand new gallery hits the ground running with its launch exhibition: work
by Cardiff-based Mark James, renowned for a wide range of two- and threedimensional design work since the late 90s. Sorry It’s Not For You covers
roughly a decade of his creations, with a clutch of new and unseen pieces
added, and has been made easier by him being one of the gallery’s founding
members. You may know James’ work from album sleeves: Super Furry
Animals’ Love Kraft is a widely seen feather in his cap, while more recently
his ingenious black binbag artwork for the latest Cian Ciaran LP was one
of several similar conceptual pieces. Toy collectors will associate him with
Cardboy and the briefly controversial football hoolie munchkin, Chinpira.
