Cardiff’s urban scene is pulling together this month for a what they term a
Skate For Palestine Summer Jam. Clothing company Bakery Co and hip-hop
record label Associated Minds have joined up along with the CitySurf shop, a
central plank of the skateboarding community, to create this all-day charity
event. The team hope to bring together skateboarders, musicians, street
artists and other enthusiasts at the recently opened Spit & Sawdust skate
park, for a day of sport, music, food and expression. Sponsored by some
top brands in worldwide skating, the Summer Jam is in aid of the charity
SkatePAL – an independent body who construct skate parks throughout
Palestine with the aim to unite and inspire the youth there, as well as provide
some welcome relief from some of the shocking conditions faced daily by
these youngsters.
