CULINARY CARDIGAN
The food festivals are coming to town. Rachel
Williams gets her chops around Cardigan’s
foodie offering.
THE Cardigan River And Food Festival can
certainly draw a crowd, with thousands of people
attracted to the town every year just to sample the
sweet and savoury treats of the occasion.
Back for its 16th year, the festival is aiming to
promote and celebrate Welsh homegrown produce
with its large variety of food on offer. There will
be everything from rare breeds of meats, luscious

food and drink next to the scenic Welsh countryside
– let’s just keep our fingers cross the Welsh weather
will hold out for the day.
For all you enthusiastic foodies, there will be lively
demonstrations from some well known and local
chefs. They will be showcasing their favourite recipes
whilst using local produce to serve up their plates.
You’ll be able to purchase the products used to
carry out these recipes in the food market in the
upper car park area and try out the recipes for
yourself at home.
The festival attracts around 100 food suppliers
each year, so there will be plenty of high quality
produce to pick from.
As always, there will be more than just food

also be entertained in the creatively named
Entertainment Area by singers, dancer and
performance group. The festival will be making
the most of its setting with a
