profile GRANT NICHOLAS As the front man of hit rock band Feeder decides to take the plunge into solo work, he talks to Heather Arnold about how a catalogue started his career. “ I think it’s small-town life, trying to find something to do. Bands were cool at the time, and I was trying to impress the girl I was after. When you’re a kid just being a band is a cool thing to do.” To say that guitarist and singer Grant Nicholas has come far would be a bit of an understatement. Growing up in the village of Pwllmeyric in Monmouthshire, Grant took to music to kill time and impress the ladies. Now he has a number of gold and platinum records under his belt.
