CARDIGAN RIVER AND FOOD FESTIVAL
Cardigan ’ s tempting treats by the River Teifi .
Fifteen years in and the Cardigan River And Food Festival continues to grow from strength to strength with an abundance of independent local food producers and a fantastic range of river-based activities and entertainment across a packed day and food and river-based revelry . Discover the real taste of Cardigan with a diverse range of award-winning cheeses , meats and artisan produce whilst overlooking the glorious River Teifi , and enjoying everything that the festival has to offer ; from cookery classes and workshops to parades and competitions . An abundance of passionate stallholders will be in attendance across the day , and with samples of their very best produce to try and buy , you struggle to leave feeling hungry . Aside from the vast array of Welsh food , a variety of events will be taking place during the day , including hourly cookery demonstrations from Welsh television chefs which give you the opportunity to learn from the best or even make your own tasty bread in one of the various masterclasses . Live music and dancing is also on the bill , as well as children ’ s activities to keep the kids entertained . The River Teifi , a mere stone ’ s throw from the festival site , will be host again to boat trips , races and other enthralling escapades throughout the day , and the festival is also a great opportunity to explore and experience the impressively unspoilt town and surrounding area of Cardigan – home to a medieval castle , stunning scenery , breathtaking beaches and various independent shops and galleries . With an admission fee of just £ 2.50 for adults , there ’ s really no reason why you wouldn ’ t want to go along . HELEN PAYNE

Over the last few years , Newport ’ s Tiny Rebel Brewing Co . have been making a name for themselves with a distinctive range of characterful beers pleasing discerning palates across South Wales and beyond . Every so often the brewery opens itself up as a bar , welcoming drinkers to sample Tiny Rebel ’ s wares . This month , for their last opening of the summer , Tiny Rebel have planned a beer festival featuring exclusively non-Welsh beer . Along with the excellent Got Beef crew who ’ ll be meating all your hunger pangs , you ’ ll also have the chance to enjoy live music and DJs across both days .

Every Monday at the Embassy Cafe , Ethical Chef Deri Reed and a team of volunteers will be serving up a fantastic vegetarian banquet created from the finest ingredients plucked from the Riverside Farmers ’ Market just one day earlier . With a BYO alcohol policy and an assurance of some of the finest and most innovative vegetarian cuisine around , Ethical Chef ’ s Meat-Free Mondays are sure to serve up something totally different to what you may have tried before for just £ 15 per person . HAVERFORDWEST BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL
Held within the beautifully historical grounds of Haverfordwest Castle from Fri 23-Sun 25 Aug , the annual Haverfordwest Beer And Cider Festival aims to support local breweries by celebrating the finest beer , cider and perry from the region across three enjoyable days from 12-8pm each day . Each day promises gallons of locally brewed ale and cider , and with entry costing just £ 3 per person and admission also including a memento glass which you can keep refilling with all your favourite tipples , enjoy food , booze and a little live music for the perfect social summer afternoon in a beautiful setting .
