34 BUYING AND MERCHANDISING BUYING AND MERCHANDISING VISUAL MERCHANDISING REISS- STORE AND CONCESSION The visual merchandising at the Reiss flagship store in Birmingham was probably the worst out of the three brands. Reiss differed to the others, as the women swear was upstairs.. Reiss also had their women swear sale at the front of their department. Even though the hangers at Reiss were spaced out on the rails, the store still felt busy. The clothing seemed be arranged in an outfit build way with work wear outfits at the back of the store. There were many fixtures on the shop floor making the store feel slightly cramped and busy for a shopper that maybe used to Whistles and Allsaints. The Reiss concession is located in John Lewis, Birmingham. The visual merchandising of this concession was rather cheap. Clothes were all over the floor, thrown over rails and folded clothes were not placed neatly. This really did cheapen what should be an expensive looking brand, due to it being so messy it was unsure whether outfits were displayed in an outfit build way or a colour scheme, but seeing as some colours did contrast it was assumed that it originally had been displayed in an outfit build way. The fixtures and rails were very full, and seemed slightly crammed onto the shop floor, differing to the store itself. Figure 70 Figure 71 Figure 72 Figure 43 35
