26 BUYING AND MERCHANDISING 27 BUYING AND MERCHANDISING VISUAL MERCHANDISING BIRMINGHAM FLAGSHIP STORE Visually, the merchandising at Allsaints matches their whole grungey and dark brand aesthetic. The shop is covered in dark distressed woods, creating a sombre feel to the store. The brand name is lit up above the store and above the till in separate light bulbs creating an industrial feel, along with the distressed furnishings and metal finishes, for example in their changing rooms were small distressed metal stools. The brand is minimal in the stock that is out on the shop floor, in that the clothes are not rammed onto the rails and are spaced evenly with a wide variety of sizes on the rails and the hangers all facing the same way. Items are grouped in colour schemes together; in a way that outfit builds. the overall aesthetic of Allsaints is definitely the best of the three as the music also suits the look of the store, all of their visuals and details in the store have been well thought through and make them stand out from others on the high street.
