The quality of the Allsaints shirt dress
cuff is extremely high. The stitching is
beautifully in line and the stitching on
the inside of the cuff was also neat and
tidy. The stitch of the buttonhole was
tight and neat, with the button being
of high quality. The stitch quality of
Allsaints was by far the best of all three
competitors, as they have also double
stitched the cuff given it considered
detail and a more expensive look. The stitch quality of the Whistles shirt
dress cuff is rather low compared to that
of Allsaints. The stitching is in line, front
and back off the cuff, yet there were loose
threads around the buttonhole which is
disappointing for Whistles as they are
seen to be a high end brand. The button
on the Whistles shirt dress also seemed
to be of a rather flimsy nature and could
probably be easily broken. The Whistles
shirt cuff is the worst quality of the three
brands. The stitch finish on the Reiss garment
was slightly uneven in that the stitching
did look slightly wonky, yet on the inside
of the cuff the stitching was clean, and
there were no loose threads like that of
the Whistles garment. The buttonhole
was stitched well with a sturdy button.
The buttonhole and button were very
similar in quality to that of Allsaints,
though Allsaints is slightly better due to a
thicker button. The Allsaints care label is sewed into the
bottom of the garment on a side seam.
The Allsaints care label was definitely
the worst as it was incredibly hard to
read due to the dark grey writing, small
font and black background. The care
label stated how to wash the garments,
and the product number. There was more
written on the care label but due to the
look of the care label it was unreadable.
The fabric of the care label is of a good,
non-irritable nature and is stitched well
and neatly into the garment. The care label on a Whistles garment can
be found, again, near the bottom of the
garment, sewed onto the seam. The label
contains all washing and ironing details,
the brand website, what looks to be the
product number, the country of origin in
many different languages and the brand
name. The label was made of the same or
similar material to the Allsaints care label
so doesn’t irritate the skin. Attached to
the care label was spare buttons for the
shirt dress. The care label at Reiss is again sewed
into the side seam near the bottom/
middle of the garment. The label includes
the country of origin, what looks to be
a product number, a fabric number,
codes/words and the brand name. All
labels were made of the same or similar
material so all are of a high quality.
Attached to the Reiss label were spare
buttons for the dress.
