BUYING GUIDE
ACCEPT THE BOAT
Following the survey, trial run and haul out, it will be time to accept or reject the boat.
Besides the binary accept or reject, there are cases where you can provide a conditional
acceptance with the seller having to fix certain items or re-negotiate the price because of
issues uncovered during the survey. Our licensed and bonded brokers can help you by
reviewing the survey results and ensuring your purchase is still a good deal.
CLOSE ON THE BOAT
As soon as you accept the boat, it will be time to start organizing the closing and delivery of
the boat. At FYI, everything is handled in-house without any 3 rd party involvement. Our
closing department is here to assist you every step of the way. From checking the title and
registration to issuing the bill of sale, and from registering the boat under the new
ownership to taking care of the payment out of our State regulated escrow account.
TAKE DELIVERY
You are now part of the FYI family and this comes with its perks. Whether you need to hire
a Captain, familiarize yourself with your new boat, find a slip or want some suggestions
about places to visit, we are here to help.
NOTE: In the event that you don’t accept the boat, we will be happy to start the process again. There is always the
right boat for you somewhere out there and we will find it J
