WHO SAID WHAT? Here’s a few introductions to the people commenting on your favorite products. DILLON GIVEN - PONDERAY, ID Simply a lover of the outdoors. If I am not in the field hunting the current animal in season, I am on the water chasing whatever will eat my fly, or skiing Schweitzer. I am the flyshop manager at North40 Outfitters in Ponderay, ID and loving it. I am a big believer in buying quality products once. ROB PATTON - GREAT FALLS, MT I’m a husband, a new dad, and an avid outdoorsman. I’m a 3D addict and archery gear junkie. I prefer gravel over asphalt and concrete. I’ve been confused with Sasquatch - more than once! I know few things for certain... but I know that September is the best month of the year, and a generator won’t run on water. SAM WIKE - GREAT FALLS, MT I fish, ski, and climb. I ride my bike to work so that I don’t get too fat in my office job. I’m an eater of pizza and have chosen red as my favorite color. I know under 100 Spanish words which I piece together and get laughed at on trips south. Steelhead fishing is life. My wife and my sons are more important than life. I don’t like Chubby Chernobyls. I have the best friends and family on earth, and they are all anglers. I’ve been educated in New Zealand and Argentina by people much more creative than myself, and it was not from a text book. I’m inspired by creative people. I work with friends, and they motivate me to be better. I like to read. I like to fish, climb, and ski (in that order). I enjoy bringing people in the Northwest US the very best products and values for what we need to live, work, and play… I’m serious… I really obsess about it. Cheers :) CALVIN FULLER - PONDERAY, ID I grew up in eastern Washington fishing or hunting every chance I could. My hobbies quickly turned into addictions and I was constantly on the Columbia River swinging flies for steelhead. I headed to the westside to attend college and receive a degree in physics. This proved to be difficult due to the new addiction of spey casting to steelhead on the rivers of western Washington. After graduating, I moved to Sandpoint, ID where I married my college sweetheart. I opened my own fly shop and ran it successfully for 6 years until I merged with Big R Fly Shop. Now my days are spent loving the outdoors, with my wife and two boys, who certainly got bit by the fishing bug, and teaching anglers to enjoy the sport of fly fishing and spey casting. 4 ORDER ONLINE - PICK UP IN-STORE STEPH AVENA - OMAK, WA Hiking the rivers and creeks east of Seattle hooked Steph Avena. Teaching himself to fly fish on streams like the Tolt, Raging and Upper Snoqualmie Forks showed him that trout and steelhead don’t come easy and that you have to be dedicated to have success. Now residing in Omak, fish come a bit easier, but Steph is no less dedicated to the greatest angling pursuit on Earth -- fly fishing! MATT FEATHERLY - OMAK, WA A local from the Okanogan valley, when I am not at North 40 Outfitters, I am hitting the river for some fishing action, or I am running the mountains – checking trail cams. In my free time, I am also a volunteer fire fighter. I really enjoy serving my community. I live for Mother Nature. It’s who I am. TYLER HICKS - OMAK, WA I spent my childhood chasing bass and panfish on the windswept lakes of Kansas. I was drawn to the West by the vast public lands where I could fish and hunt. My greatest passion in life is fishing and if it has fins and swims, I will pursue it using both fly and conventional tackle. I have a particular interest in angler education and recruitment as well as kayak angling. Stop by and see me at the Ponderay store and we can trade fishing tales. FRED TELLEEN - GREAT FALLS, MT I fly fish to live.” (25+ years guiding) “I live to fly fish” (obsession). At the age of two, I captured my first bluegill in southern Michigan. Since then, I have never stopped looking into waters for fish. My first wild trout came from the waters of Glacier NP a few years later. I spent much of my youth chasing fish in Wisconsin, the Great Lakes and thro
