These awards recognise outstanding achievement and contributions to the industry by senior buy-side traders from some of the world ’ s top financial institutions . The awards cover equities , foreign exchange and fixed income . The list of nominees was initially selected by the buy-side trading community . The global buy-side was then invited to vote for the winners . The traders that received the most votes from their peers won . The awards were presented to the winners at the annual 2017 Global Buy Side Awards and networking event in London on 2 February 2017 .
