Welcome to the 13 th summer edition of
the Buy-side Perspectives!
We have had a busy H1 with our Alpha
Trader Forum roadshow that took place
in May and June in Paris, Frankfurt,
Stockholm and London across equities
(page 9), fixed income (page 11) and
FX (page 13) and it was great to see old
faces and new.
We are pleased to introduce the
Buy-side Trading Community
(BTC), our new umbrella brand
which encompasses all of K&KGC’s
consultancy services. Membership
is open to both buy-side firms and
non-buy side firms but buy-side
participation in the Alpha Trader
Forum (ATF) and our Buy-side
Perspectives re search will remain
free of charge. We are very excited to
drive this initiative as we are the only
buy-side trading community in the
world and our aim and objective from
day 1 is to evolve and shape buy-side
trading globally. More coming soon!

Don’t miss this edition’s buy-side
interviews with Richard Nelson on his
30 year career spanning the UK, Asia
and Australia (page 20), Neil Bond on
achieving the optimum work/life balance
(page 26) as well as Daniel Chambers’
story on why he’s raising money by
taking part in Tough Mudder for the
third year for his chosen charity (page
24). It was also great to catch up with
Christophe Roupie (page 14) who is
a long-time advocate of the ATFs, who
worked at Axa Investment Management
for 10 years before joining MarketAxess.
We are also delighted to host our
inaugural Alpha Trader Forum for Cross
Asset Derivatives for the buy-side
trading community in London on the
9 th October which will become the new
derivatives meeting place for the buy
side behind closed doors under the
Chatham house rule. More information
on page 2.
