Resident of the Month
Marilyn Sagar
Marilyn Sagar was born Jan. 18,
1930, in Centerburg, Ohio to Charles
and Eunice Stout. Marilyn had two
brothers, James and Terry. The family
moved to Glendale, Ariz. in 1947, and
Marilyn graduated from the Glendale
High School in 1948.
Charles Sagar was a best friend of
Marilyn’s brother, James. Charles
moved to Arizona to work on a cattle
ranch with James. However, Charles
would soon fall in love. Marilyn gradu-
ated from the Glendale High School in
1948 and the couple soon married.
Marilyn and Charles then moved to
Oregon where he worked on a cattle
ranch and she was a homemaker. The
couple would later return to their home
state of Ohio to raise a family. They
were blessed with five children: Edward;
Roger; Bryan; Angela and Elaine.
The couple lived in Ohio for several
years but would later return to Arizona.
Charles worked on a dairy farm for sev-
eral years and later would have his own
dairy farm. The couple eventually
moved to Dunnegan, Mo., upon retire-
ment where they built their underground
home. The couple enjoyed traveling to
new places and visiting their children
and family. They were blessed with a
wonderful 59 years of marriage before
Charles passed in 2007.
Marilyn’s hobbies have included
painting, sewing, gardening, and
traveling. She enjoys spending
time with her family including her
5 children, 12 grandchildren, and
15 great-grandchildren.
Marilyn moved to Butterfield
Residential Care Center in 2016.
She continues to enjoy her love of
painting and attends the weekly art
class. She enjoys sewing, crafts,
reading, and studying her bible.
