Paul Hebbert,
Resident of the Month
Congratulations to Paul Hebbert on
being selected as Butterfield’s Resident
of the Month. Born on Feb. 16, 1923, to
Charles and Jessie Mae Hebbert, Paul
grew up with one older sister, Josephine,
and one older brother, Frank. Paul was
born in Polk County and has lived in the
area all of his life.
Paul attended Green Mound School
and graduated from Goodson High
School. After high school, he worked on
the family farm and attended numerous
mechanic courses in Springfield and
received extensive training in the trade.
Throughout his life, Paul has worked
in a variety of jobs in the fields of auto
mechanics and mechanical maintenance.
His extensive training and knowledge
gave him the opportunity to share his
knowledge for many years at Bolivar
High School, where he served as a
Building Trades teacher.
His wife, Dorothy Ragsdale Hebbert,
was also a teacher in the Bolivar School
District. She spent many years teaching
art to a variety of ages. Sadly, after 67
years of marriage, Dorothy passed away.
During their life together, the couple
was blessed with two children: Nancy
and Stephen. Paul has also been able to
enjoy his five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Paul is a very talented musician and can play the piano,
banjo and mandolin. His passion
and love of music has allowed
him the opportunity to travel the
United States while playing in
different bands. Paul has been a
long-time member of group,
Banjo International.
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us, Paul! We
are blessed to have you as part
of our family at Butterfield
Residential Care Center.
Are you a caring individual who would like to assist in caring for the elderly?
