Linda Bigler,
Residents of the Month
Congratulations to Linda Bigler on
being selected as resident of the month.
Linda Vee Chaney was born Aug. 28,
1925, in Pittsburg, Mo., to Bert and
Edna Chaney. Linda had four siblings,
Marvin, Dee, Lavon and Connie. She
attended school in Pittsburg. Her parents
owned, Chaney General Store, and she
worked in the store for several years.
In 1940, Linda met J. C. Bigler at
church, and the couple began dating.
They married March 31, 1940, and
moved to California, where J.C. worked
for a year on a ranch.
The couple moved back to Missouri
and J.C. worked as a road construction
supervisor. Linda was a homemaker and
worked on the their farm.
The couple later would move to In-
dependence, Mo., where J.C. continued
to work in road construction and Linda
worked at a grocery store. When J.C.
retired, the couple returned to their
home town of Pittsburg. They later sold
their farm and moved to Wheatland,
where they lived for 23 years before
moving to Bolivar.
Linda and J.C. were blessed with two
wonderful children, a daughter, Bernice
and a son, Rick. Bernice lives in Polk,
Mo. with husband, Jerald, and Rick, and
wife Laura, live in Bolivar. Linda is
blessed with five grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Linda and J.C. were blessed with 69
years of marriage before J.C. passed
away in 1990.
Linda is a member of the Boli-
var First Christian Church. She has
enjoyed cooking, canning, attend-
ing church activities, and was a
member of the Friendship Circle
Club.
Linda moved to Butterfield in
2016. She is blessed with the com-
pany of her special friend, Ray
Fleeman, who also lives at Butter-
field. She enjoys attending paddle
ball, music groups, parties and sev-
eral other activities at BRCC. She
loves spending time with her fami-
ly and friends, and she is blessed
that her granddaughter, Tina Dick-
erson, works at Butterfield as the
Director of Nursing.

story with us, Linda. We are so
