After graduation, she moved to Kansas City where she worked for the Business Men’s Assurance Company (BMA). On Feb. 21, 1958, Leta married Robert “Bob” Wendell Cowan in Springfield, Mo. It wasn’t long before Leta and Bob had purchased a farm in Aldrich, where they lived for many years, raising cattle and hogs. The couple were blessed with 56 years of marriage. Sadly, on Oct. 4th, 2013, while Leta was recovering from a broken hip, Robert passed away The couple was blessed with two children, Rhonda and Mark. Mark and his wife, Dana, care for the family farm, while Rhonda and her husband, Tom, live near Rogersville and own a photography studio.
