On the cover this month is Palm Tran , the transit agency for Palm Beach County in Florida . Palm Tran has fully embraced a complete enterprise management solution by Avail Technologies . Working with Avail since 2014 , the agency recently upgraded its myAvail and infotainment capabilities to enhance realtime communications and information .
Also in this issue , BUSRide convened a panel of industry thought leaders to discuss accessible transit , paratransit , and bus travel in the wake of COVID-19 . Experts from BraunAbility , Q ’ STRAINT , and Trapeze Group explored the pandemic-related disruptions to accessible transit , new safety concerns , the role of technology in a post-COVID environment , new budget constraints , and best practices for working with ADA passengers .
Furthermore , BUSRide concludes its coverage this month of the American Bus Association ' s ( ABA ) Bus Industry Safety Council ( BISC ) and Bus Maintenance and Repair Council ( BusMARC ) 2021 Virtual Safety & Maintenance Series .
The virtual program presented 17 sessions centered around COVID-19 response as well as education focused on safety , compliance , and maintenance . All the sessions were offered for free , with BUSRide serving as a forum to recap the content presented by the numerous industry experts in attendance . We are honored for the opportunity , and thank ABA for their partnership .
