Runway – The Runway System consist of two runways (10, 28) on one strip with both being LCN 86 asphalt surface.The runways are equipped with airfield lighting systems for night operations.They have a length 2743metres and 45metres wide, an ele vation of 12 metres situated within reference points: Latitude 12° 00’ 15” Longitude 61° 47’ 17” It is constructed based on a design to accommodate Boeing 747- 400. Air Navigation Equipment – Air navigation equipment installed at M.B.I.A. includes: -Runway lights, ICAO simple approach (300 metres) lighting system, NDB – PAPIS, DVOR/DME Meteorological Services – Situated at the airport are the National Meteorological Services providing: Crash, Fire and Rescue (CFR) – The airport operates at a Category 8 status with a limited marine rescue capacity. Fuel Tank Farm – The Fuel Tank Farm is operated by Texaco West Indies (Grenada) Ltd. and provides for AV JET and AV Gas fuel. Storage capacity: 112’006 AG (AVJET) 10’023 AG (AVGAS) Shopping and Catering Facilities – Duty free liquor, perfume, jewelry, crystal, etc. can be bought in the departure lounge. Restaurant and cafeteria facilities are also available. Airline catering services are provided. Security – Equipped with a modern X-ray scanner for the purpose of screening passengers and baggage, the unit is also equipped with manually operated screening devices. A compliment of full time security officers and the police also maintain a presence at the airport. LANDING FEES Minimum Charge - $20-00 Aircraft Weight Charge per Landing 10,000 Ibs or less $2.50 per 1000lbs 10,001 - 350,000 lbs $3.25 per 1000lbs 350,001 lbs & over $600.00 plus $2.20 per 1000lbs PARKING FEES First Six (6) Hours free. Minimum Charge - $5.00. 15% of Landing Fee for 24 hours or part thereof. NAVIGATIONAL / COMMUNICATION CHARGE Navigation/Communication charges are levied on all flights operating in Grenada. Aircraft Weight Charges per landing 12,500 lbs. or less $30.00 12,501 lbs to 75,000 lbs. $50.00 Any part over 75,000 lbs. $125.00 OVERTIME CHARGE $2,375.00 per hour or part thereof as of 10.30 pm Local Time
