or 161 years, Sagicor Life has been

HISTORY
In 1858, 18 years after Barbados Mutual
Life Assurance Society was established in
Barbados, and nine years after beginning
their trek across the Caribbean with the
opening of a branch in St Vincent, the
company expanded to Trinidad and Tobago

and Grenada, thus expanding their footprint,
a development which would occur with varying
degrees of frequency over the next 150 years.
By 2002 when the company established itself
as Sagicor, it had increased its profile across
the Caribbean, dominating the life insurance
arena in all the English-speaking markets and
across the Dutch Caribbean and Haiti also.
In 2014, Sagicor marked another milestone
which would impact its Eastern Caribbean
markets with the incorporation of Sagicor
Life Eastern Caribbean Inc, which meant that
all assets in the Eastern Caribbean would be
owned in the Eastern Caribbean.

we strengthen our relationships within the
community. Over the years we have supported
activities like the Rotaract Spelling Bee
Competition which provides an important
avenue for the development of our young
people. Over 2019 we are hoping to broaden
