he Grenada Investment Development
Corporation (GIDC) is an Economic
Development Corporation and Statutory
Body with a mandate to stimulate, facilitate
and encourage the establishment and
development of industry throughout Grenada,
Carriacou and Pettie Martinique. Since
its thirty-four (34) years of establishment,
the Corporation has evolved from granting
concessions and providing industrial space,
to the provision of business development
and entrepreneurial services to potential and
existing entrepreneurs through its three (3)
Strategic Business Units namely Investment
Promotion, Business Development Centre and
Facilities supported by a Shared Services Unit.
GIDC’s mission is “to contribute to
Grenada’s socio-economic development by
adopting a targeting approach in promoting
investment opportunities, providing superior
investor facilitation and entrepreneurial
development services, and advocating for
a supportive enabling environment for
investors to develop and grow their business,
trade and industries” while its overall
strategic goal is to promote local and foreign
investment as well as facilitate and strengthen
entrepreneurial development within the
growth sectors of Grenada’s economy.
One of the ways in which GIDC is fulfilling
its strategic goal is through the management
of its two (2) Business/Industrial Parks
and a Small Business Complex which are
strategically located to provide opportunities
for investors and entrepreneurs to develop
and grow their businesses. The Frequente
Industrial Park is located at Frequente, St.
George only five (5) minutes away from the
Maurice Bishop International Airport, while
the Seamoon Industrial Park is located at
St. Andrew and only five (5) minutes away
from the seaport. The Business Complex
is located at Sauteurs, St. Patrick. These
parks and complex provide space to

and Small Business Complex have access
to excellent electricity supply, sound broad
band connectivity, security, landscaped
grounds and a host of other common facilities
which enable effective business operations.
Collectively, the parks and business complex
employ approximately 1,400 persons
from fifty-six (56) enterprises. Additional
employment is expected to be generated
from the construction of a 22,000 sq. ft.
facility at the Frequente Industrial Park.
The most recent initiative of the Corporation
in relation to its parks is the refurbishment
of its Administrative Office at the Seamoon
Industrial Park into an Outreach and
Training Centre. This initiative is part of the
Enterprise Business Development Component
of the Climate Smart Agriculture and
Rural Enterprise Programme (SAEP). The

16-35 who have met the stipulated criteria.
The GIDC continues to facilitate and
strengthen entrepreneurial development in
Grenada and to promote local and foreign
