Incentives for Returning Nationals
T
he Government of Grenada has in place a
special programme for the grant of relief
to Grenadians living abroad and wishing to
return home.
THE INCENTIVE PROGRAMME FOR RETURNING
NATIONALS IS AS FOLLOWS:
aExemptions are given to nationals who
have been living abroad for at
least seven (7) years and are claiming
exemptions on personal and household
effects for personal use and not for resale
a100% exemption on all household
and personal effects whether new up to
ECD$75,000
a50% exemption on one (1) personal
vehicle (specify). If the vehicle is sold
before three (3) years, the duties and
taxes will be payable on the expired
term of the exemption.
aA second vehicle to be used for
legitimate business will be granted a
50% exemption.
aReturning nationals will be able to
purchase their vehicles locally if they
wish to do so.
aNew and used tools of trade will be
allowed free of all duties and taxes
aReturning nationals desirous of setting
up a business will be allowed the usual
tax incentives offered to foreign
investors and will be handled by
the Grenada Industrial Development
Corporation (GIDC)
aEnvironmental levy: vehicles 1-5 years
will attract a 2% charge on CIF value
and vehicles over 5 years will attract a
30% charge on CIF value, In addition to
a 6% Customs Service Charge (CSC).
aThe Customs Service Charge will continue
to apply on all imports under this new
program at the rate of 6%.
aItems may be imported within three
months before or after arrival in Grenada.
Persons wishing to apply for the incentives
under this program are required to visit
the Returning Nationals Facilitation
Bureau situated in the Ministry of Finance.

MUST BE SUBMITTED:
1. Passport
2. Proof of nationality
3. Original one way ticket used to return
to Grenada
4. A list of items which will be shipped to
Grenada
5. Specification of the any vehicle to be imported
6. Retirement letter BG
