What do business women really want in 2018? Empowerment,
leadership, equal pay all top the list. BWS work in conjunction with
the Scottish Government as part of Scotland Can Do campaign which
focuses on entrepreneurship, what women really want to drive the
economy forward and helping women in business. The group of women
discuss the gender pay gap, how women can fund their business ideas
and confidence building. Women are looking for change and equality
and there is still more to do to make these changes.
In this issue we chat with Jackie Waring, the CEO of the all female
business Angel Group in Scotland. Jackie is driven and passionate about
helping female entrepreneurs overcoming some of the barriers to
achieving their full potential. Access to finance is a key issue that crops
up time and time again.
Female led businesses: We chat with Jessica Giannotti from Crubag, who
has created a textiles company with a difference, mixing science with
luxury fashion to a high end luxury interiors and fashion brand.
Women sometimes think that having a baby can slow down their career?
Not in this instance for friends, Amy Livingstone and Julie Wilson, their
maternity leave helped them focus on creating an award winning
business, Cheeky Chompers.
Our cover story catches up with Rebecca Pick from Pick Protection. a
young entrepreneur with drive and ambition. She was determined to
take her idea into a business and managed to secure finance to drive it
forward.
There’s lots of great stories and advice in this issue, all these stories will
make you feel driven and keen to strive for more!
Yours,
Lynne Kennedy
