Selina McGee knew she wanted to do something in healthcare early on, but wasn’t sure which direction that would take. Toying with the idea of radiology, she soon concluded she didn’t want to spend her time behind four walls, but would rather work directly with patients to improve their quality of life. Her “Aha” moment came after her freshman year in college when she spent her summer working for two optometrists in Pennsylvania. This time quickly sparked her desire to pursue a career in optometry. Soon after, she found herself in Tahlequah, enrolled in Northeastern State University. Her passion to start was so 16 February 2020 | The Business Times strong that she began the optometry program a year early. “I grew up wearing glasses and contacts, and I knew that I wanted to do something in healthcare,” McGee said. “I had the opportunity to work for two optometrists in college. I wasn’t there even a week and I realized this was the coolest profession. I ran with it from there.” Since starting her career as a Doctor of Optometry in 2002, she has been passionate about improving the lives of her patients by helping them achieve optimal vision.  After earning her O.D. in 2002, McGee joined the Dean McGee Eye Institute where she gained valuable experience working with cornea, retina and glaucoma specialists.  In 2006, she became an owner/ partner at McGee, Pickard and Robinson Eye Associates in Midwest City, actively treating patients with severe dry eye conditions as well as corneal diseases requiring specialty contact lenses.  In 2013 she acquired Olsen Eye Care and launched Precision Vision of Edmond. Here, she has expanded on her passion of treating dry eye conditions and providing expert care for specialty contact lenses.
