Calling a client

It would be very easy to interact, certainly easier if you could speak to your client directly. This as you know first hand does not happen very often. The reality is that there is a receptionist or someone you need to speak to first before speaking to your client.

Reception is a necessary function, they prevent time being lost to sales calls and in general is considered to be the voice of the company. Being polite towards this function is important since you will interact frequently and probably build a relationship with a receptionist over time.
