Finding and Applying for A Job

FINDING JOB OPENINGS

The first step in getting a job is finding a job lead. In its simplest form, it is information about a job opening.

NETWORKING

A very effective form of finding jobs leads is networking; it is the art of building alliances. Making contacts and new friends. Networking is a mutual exchange where both parties benefit from each other.

To build a network, contact school counselors, local businesses, professionals in your life and former employers.

WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMS, EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES

Build some experience by going to work experience programs, look for ads in magazines and newspapers or contact an employment agency.

COMPANY PERSONNEL OFFICES

Human Resources offices at large companies facilitate applying for jobs at those places. Be sure to contact them by visiting, calling, or using their webpage. Ask questions, and make sure you're doubtless about the company or the role you could assume at the places you contact.

A great alternative is the Internet. There are webpages that act as the Internet equivalent to employment offices.
