MADELINE SHAW The glow guides Madeline Shaw’s app, The Glow Guides is an 8-week holistic transformational programme that includes a personal trainer, a nutritionist and a life coach (Shaw, 2016). There are three different components that form the Glow Guides app, Move, Munch and Meditate. The Move programme is made up of yoga videos that are performed by Madeline Shaw, and workout videos that are led by a personal trainer. The movement programme is all about breath, strength, stability and agility (Shaw, 2016). The Munch programme consists of 8 different meal plans with 80 glow guides recipes (Shaw, 2016). All the meals have been clarified with a dietician so the meals have all the nutrients you need. The Munch programme comes with a weekly shopping list to make it easier for the user (Shaw, 2016). The Meditate programme is all about relaxation and recuperation. Each week there will be an audio to listen to when meditating (Shaw, 2016). The Glow Guides is The Active App’s main competitor due to it having similar features, however, what differentiates The Active App from the glow guides are the ‘virtual run’ and the ‘12 months of blogging’. Although Madeline has a lot of input with the app and makes it very personal with her users, The Active Apps users of the active app will have a variety of different bloggers to aspire to, and be motivated by.
