President's Message
June 1 marks the
beginning of
hurricane season
and a part of that
for Chambers of
Commerce is to
make sure we have
reminded our
member businesses
that being prepared
is a responsibility.
That may sound
strong, but your
business is your livelihood and that of your employees. Your business provides services that are important to your clients and customers. Your ability to respond to a disaster with a sound plan of action that includes preparation and recovery is vital to the economic health of our community. Your Chamber has a disaster plan which is posted on the Chamber website, www.CorpusChristiChamber.org Additionally on this page you will find useful links that will help you get a plan in place for your business and access to local resources that you need in the event of a disaster. Please download the “recovery in progress” form to keep with your emergency plan. Once you are able to following a disaster, we ask that you return this form to us here at the Chamber. It will let us know what your closure and reopening plans are and we will be pushing those messages out through our communications outlets. Lastly, here is a link to a recent post by State Representative Todd Hunter regarding disaster planning and its importance. Please take the time to read it and open up the resource links. Click here.
Most importantly, just because we haven’t had an event for years doesn’t mean we don’t plan for one. Get busy and protect your business by preparing an active plan that will protect your economic stability and that of those that depend on you.
