These determinations will extend to any potentially affected military installation, military-owned or military-operated air traffic control radar site, navigation aids and military training routes and ranges.

“The language included in this bill will go a long way to protect airspace vital to naval aviation training from wind farm encroachment. We are pleased at Senator Cruz’s efforts to protect Texas military installations and our national defense. No new wind farms should be allowed in proximity to military bases until a definitive study is complete and accepted as science that wind farm radar signature has been remediated and is no threat to naval or military aviation,” Wes Hoskins, Chairman, South Texas Military Facilities Task Force.

Our message about the danger wind farms present to naval aviation was heard. This legislation has not yet been brought to a vote, but chances of passage with this amendment included are good.

Although the trip was successful on many levels, after two days of intense meetings, participants were pleased to head home to the Sparkling City and put away their suits and ties in exchange for shorts and flip flops.

But we only get to rest for a little while until the 85th Texas Legislature is upon us. The Chamber Government Affairs Committee is just beginning to vet items for the state legislative agenda.
