I was made Director at 32, which I earnt through
sheer determination to prove people wrong and
prove to myself that I can do it. I am the only
female Director on the board with nine other
men, and one of 12 females in total.
I am very proud of my title, my girls and my
family. We all work together as a unit to face ever-
evolving challenges and have seen the company
grow from a £30m turnover to nearly £70m in
less than five years.
Having my children young has allowed me to
focus myself in all the right areas at the right
time. In five years, my father is hoping to retire,
my eldest will be 17 and who knows I could be an
MD of a multi-million-pound business aged 38.
My daughters have so much to experience,
and like me, will have both failure and success.
I would love to see them beside me working in
the business and would welcome them with
open arms. I am a passionate advocate of getting
women into construction and I would be the first
to encourage and support their journey.
Time is precious and so is family.
Make time, make the effort and make your own
success.
