Mindset & Emotion Forgiveness is not suffering from amnesia but rather freeing the heart and mind from judgement, grief and distrust. Forgiveness is loving and trusting by using experiences from the past as a support for your discernment of the present. As with any process, it may seem that you don’t have anything or know of anybody to forgive in the beginning. Your individual world, however, is a microcosm within the universal macrocosm where all energy exists. This means that all women represent your mother, or your mother figure and you relate with the men in your life by copying the pattern you established with your father or your father figure. You distinguish trust, help and sympathy according to the relationship you established with your faith, and the hands you encounter in your life which supported you or not. Forgive deeply and widely: yourself, your mother, your father, your siblings, any other figure of loving authority from your childhood and you will clear your path of weeds, walls and chasms which impede your process of development. Writing a forgiveness affirmation is done in the first person, just like other affirmations, and you can also include the second and third person as well. Create the forgiveness affirmation with an open end and every time, you can finish the sentence off with an ‘emotional response ending’. It is essential to forgive in order to integrate and really grow emotionally Viola Edward is a Transcultural Psychotherapist and breathwork pioneer 32 with over 25 years’ experience.
