Interview Award winning architect, entrepreneur, athlete and international public speaker Tania Arrayales Rodríguez is an advocate for Sustainable Architecture and through her company Green Habitat project and her non- profit project Green Habitat Preservation is on a mission to help people live in balance and harmony with nature. Who are you? My name is Tania Arrayales Rodriguez and I was born in North America. My curiosity has led me to discover many cultures in several countries and fall in love with the food, architecture, temples, songs and sunsets around the world. My ancestors were brave women and men from the area of Teotihuacan near Mexico City where the Sun and Moon pyramids were built thousands of years ago. When I travel around the world, I discover cities by walking the streets and eating where the locals eat. I love getting lost and let the time pass as my senses discover the smells and colours of the cities and nature. I always find sacred and special spaces to contemplate nature and calm the mind so I can develop my vision and map my next steps in business and life. The key is to always keep improving your ideas and moving them in the direction of progress. Measure your results regularly to make all the necessary changes on your path because no one gets it right first time. Always have mentors. Life development and business need planning and a large amount of reality to move in the correct direction. Sometimes it is not the same direction you wanted to go and that’s why listening to others who have walked the same road as you can save you time and effort. Simplify your life. In my 15 years as an entrepreneur and architect I have seen many people trying to open doors in the most complicated way. Always ask yourself how you can make your life and projects easier and more practical. Remember that entrepreneurship, in most cases, is about solving problems in a way Always keep improving your ideas and moving them in the direction of progress which is unique and efficient. It is about learning to transform and adapt to a better outcome, so reinvent yourself and don’t be afraid to expose and give life to that crazy idea which is in your head. What is your definition of success? How did you finally know you had succeeded in your business? Success is related to the way we answer to life. It is having a magical power to align mind, body and spirit with the reality you want to see in front of you. The first step to being successful is to define how it looks for you and then map out on a vision board what do you need to overcome to achieve that reality. The second step is to always remember where you are going, with life distractions and social pressure it can be easy to compromise your vision unless you have an everyday reminder and take the necessary steps to stay on it and be loyal. Does “Balance” in life exist for you? If so, how do you achieve it? Balance is an everyday achievement for me. I have my rituals to keep myself in alignment. When I wake up I play music whch inspires me and I set a high vibration for the day. I think about food in terms of cravings and I make sure I eat what makes me happy (like avocado and mango). I go to the beach every day and contemplate the ocean, I have found that living near water is essential for my peace and to achieve a blissful existence.
