Interview The most influential Hispanic woman when it comes to nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle, we interview Ingrid Macher, to find out more about her motivation, her success and her passions. Now an authority for anyone looking to live a healthy lifestyle, it is her own experience with weight issues which has given her the most credibility before both the public and the media as an expert. Who are you? Ingrid MACHER Guiding millions of women to take control of their lives My name is Ingrid Macher. I am a celebrity transformation coach, business founder and president of Burn20 LLC, expert in holistic nutrition, certified personal trainer, master coach in NLP, major in mass communications and journalism, three-time fitness champion, motivational speaker, bestselling author and creator of digital weight loss programmes. I was nominated as “Most Influential Hispanic Women” in fitness & wellness in Latin America and the United States and the brain behind Adelgaza20. com, creative content machine, reaching over 70 million women around the world via internet per week. After losing over 22 kilos in 90 days, I became the preferred source for health, fitness, and nutrition for women who desperately needed to adjust their lifestyle without sacrificing their roles as mothers, wives, and professionals. My personal struggle and success with weight loss has genuinely granted my credibility with the Latin American community and mass media platforms as an expert on the subject. I recently overcame my battle with breast cancer which inspired me to create a programme by the name of “Fabulous And Fit”, which offers four different meal plans, workout routines and regimen for at home or in the gym, expert live conferences, motivation, and coaching daily; providing the tools and information to overcome the obstacles women typically encounter when enduring their weight Women are the definition of superheroes 42 loss journeys. Most importantly, the success from my programmes allows me to engage in philanthropic work through my two foundations, The Cathy Salguero Foundation and The Mission REMA Foundation. What was your motivation to achieve what you have? Being born in Colombia, I arrived in the United States in search of success. Years of hard work and sacrifice were a staple in my life, until it took a turn for the worst: At seven months pregnant I was rushed to the emergency room where I was clinging onto life after a severe asthma attack. As if God had not tested me enough, the recession in 2008 forced me to reinvent myself and start from scratch. Although things seemed to improve over time there was a void that could not be fulfilled. This was the beginning of my transformation into a public figure, influencer, and face of a brand which has reached millions of women, guiding them to take control of their lives. The phenomenal success has been one of the most striking case studies for the internet industry and marketing gurus. My biggest motivation was the love for my children and the absolute necessity to be present, healthy, and supportive as they grow. Recently, after an extensive battle with breast cancer I decided to make a drastic, yet vital decision. In August of 2019, I underwent a bilateral mastectomy leaving cancer in the past. I am blessed with a second chance at life and I am beyond elated to be able to spread awareness and aid others enduring the same traumatic experience. What is your major discovery in life? And how has it influenced your life? I would have to say the most significant discovery in my life would have to be before becoming a successful woman, I limited myself in many aspects and set parameters on what I could achieve. I believe I lacked the confidence to pursue my goals because of how I was raised and the tendencies and lessons of my childhood. This led me to think no doors would open for me along my journey. I was pleasantly mistaken. Soon after, I crossed paths with my husband Jeff, he taught me an extremely valuable lesson which I will carry on throughout my lifetime; and that is the power of knowledge. He taught me that success comes from hard work, research, Photo Credit: @jblancophotos 43
