I think that some of the things that characterise me most are my perseverance, my willingness to advance professionally and my passion for my profession. What was your motivation to become a doctor in aesthetic medicine? I have always liked the world of beauty and it was really a coincidence as initially I was specialising in plastic surgery when I started a master's degree in aesthetic medicine. I loved it. I started working in a clinic and my office started filling up, so I realised that I was born for this and that it was my true calling. How do you take care of yourself on a holistic level? Dr Carla Barber Eliminating the prejudices that people have about aesthetic medicine 8 The truth is that I like to relax after a day of hard and intense work by going to a nice restaurant to eat sushi, which I love, or enjoy a glass of good wine. I also attend two weekly sessions with a physiotherapist and I just recently started yoga classes once a week in my clinic. If you were in a jungle, what kind of animal would you be and why? If I were in the jungle, I would be an eagle because I could fly over the jungle and see the full picture. In addition, I wouldn't be in any danger from predators who could threaten me and want to eat me, so I would live for a very long time and be very happy in my aerial world. 9
