Interview
...you can go from one
passion to another...
The sky is the limit.
the construction but also the design. I went
to design school and got a degree 18 years
ago in design and interior. I got my General
Contractor license 23 years ago, so, I do
construction and design. For me it’s like an art,
I have the same passion as when I’m rapping.
I let the creative juices flow, and I leave my
signature on the homes through the design
and the decor. You can definitely identify my
homes.
Tell us about your tv series
I expect the unexpected, I never planned my
life. I found a passion along the way which
I never expected and now it’s developing, so
from the construction and design, I have my
own TV show. The Vanilla Ice Project, which
started in 2010 and is now on season 8. I get
to show the world the latest and greatest in
home design and technology. We are doing
lazy river swimming pools in homes which look
like they are from out of a five-star resort. We
put elevators in homes or copper ceilings and
chandeliers which are made of crystals which
are like Swarosky, the wildest decor you have
ever seen.

How do you manage fear?
I manage it very well. For some people fear
holds them back, they are afraid to move
forward because they live off the fear of fear.
I live off the excitement of fear, there is a
difference, it fuels me. It may be the unknown,
but I will dive right in to see what it’s all about.
My curiosity gets the better of me sometimes.
I want to learn, and I always ask a lot of
questions, I talk a lot and interact with people
I love to interact with people, no matter what
there they are from, and I’ve met people from
all walks of life.
What would be your advice to
entrepreneurs?
I started in motocross, then went on to be a
rapper. I never thought I would make millions
of dollars from real estate, but it just goes to
show you can go from one passion to another.
The sky is the limit. We’re all capable of doing
everything, it’s just a matter of applying yourself,
find your purpose, find your meaning and you
can go on to accomplish your goals. It’s all
about passion, energy and drive. It’s important
to have goals and understand where you are
going.
