from aspiring authors throughout the world
who want to participate in Volume VII in 2020.
Hundreds of people turned out for our
first ever, live LatinaTalks in 2019, featuring
presentations by our contributors. With 43 of
our authors based in New York, The New York
Times, who has hosted book launches for us
the past two years, has asked to hold an east
coast LatinaTalks at their office! Making Today’s
Inspired Latina one of the premier events for
Hispanic Heritage month in NYC! There is
also a proclamation in the works for “Today’s
Inspired Latina Day” in Chicago, planned
national television spots, the magic goes on
and on!
Most amazing of all, though, is the appreciation
I have received from the authors who have
thanked me for providing them with a family,
a like-minded sisterhood which works towards
Latina empowerment. We are united in our
support for one another.
Today’s
Inspired
Latina
When we take leaps of faith, they sometimes
lead us somewhere so special and
unimaginable that all we can do is surrender to
the magical energy being bestowed upon us.
That is how I feel these days.
Five years after the modest launch of the first
volume of Today’s Inspired Latina, I stand
in wonder in the shadow of a true global
movement of Latina empowerment. The series
has now given voice to more than 132 authors
34
across the globe and is attracting the attention
of politicians and Fortune 500 brands.
This past year, Today’s Inspired Latina caught
the attention of Estee Lauder, and a partner
event in Chicago and New York resulted in
an evening of magic, with participants taking
home an engraved lipstick with our hashtag
#ELxTIL on them. Even as we prepare Volume
VI featuring European authors and set to
launch in Belgium this fall, I am receiving calls
In short, I breathe deeply in gratitude, for this
was not the plan, but all a gift from the universe
that I must humbly accept. I don’t know what
else is in store for me, but I stand here with
open arms, waiting to embrace it all!

going through. And most importantly, a voice
to share how God has been with me through
every mountain that I’ve had to face. Sharing
my story has opened doors that I never
dreamed of walking through.”
Maria Castro
“Spreading your wings & taking flight to new
dimensions”
Macarena Tamayo-Calabrese
“That women can begin to take their rightful
place in history by having a more accurate
account of our own story because it is told
by us. It is our voice. And as a way to pay it
forward by ensuring that current and future
generations of strong Latina women know
they stand on the shoulders of tenacious, grit-
minded individuals who fought to ensure that
Latina women have rightful place in history.
That their story be told and used as tools to
aspire to more.”
Thania Keppel
“TIL
means
possibilities,
expansion,
opportunity, inspiration and sisterhood.
It brings a gift that I never experienced before
with an energy of magic and positive AMAZING
Jackieness!”
Chella Diaz
“Today’s Inspired Latina means to me a sense
of community and belonging. A place where
women come together to help each other and
make an impact on their communities.”
Marcela Avila
“Today’s Inspired Latina is our opportunity to
inspire and create hope in our community and
in the world.
A word from some of the authors:
Keila Gonzalez
“It is a wonderful opportunity to inspire
others to action and the materialization of an
extraordinary life.”
Chanabelle Arriaga
“Today’s Inspired Latina has given me a voice.
A voice to heal when sharing my story. A voice
to help others heal and be inspired knowing
someone has gone through what they are
It’s an opportunity to help through my life
experience, and at the same time to be helped
through an empowered sisterhood.”
Nancy Razon
“Today’s Inspired Latina means an open
window to the world! The opportunity to speak
some truths and deliver the message that so
many are afraid or perhaps ashamed to unveil.
It’s the opportunity to shed some light and
inspire women and men to love themselves
and love each other.”
