Become Visible in Social Media:
Visibility in social media is mandatory and
a critical element to your career which has
nothing to do with "bragging". You must have a
digital presence: it doesn’t matter if you are an
employee, an entrepreneur, or sell a service or
product. If you want to stand out in any area,
you will need a strong positioning in various
platforms.
Your message or expertise should always
go hand in hand with your brand on social
networks. Be extra careful with the images
and messages you share including your dress
code, comments, or posts you’ve retweeted or
reposted, this is all part of your brand!
Create Your Circle of Support:
If we do not have visibility then nobody will
acknowledge our work leading to our products
not selling and the loss of control in our
careers. That's why you MUST have or create
your own circle of support, a circle made up
of a tribe of partners, friends, and people with
whom you ally to highlight the achievements
of both parties’ shared events, mutual support,
and one that creates strategic opportunities.
And when that other language is Spanish
you are extremely lucky, especially if you live
in countries like the United States where
Hispanics are the fastest growing group with a
purchasing power in the trillions!
And if you happen to have an accent please
do not forget that this accent is your brand
and your trademark. This is what makes you
unique, unrepeatable, and divergent. An
assumed weakness can become your greatest
strength, if you do not believe me, ask Sofia
Vergara, the highest-paid actress in the US.
Visibility is vital! You are the architect of your
own destiny, therefore break wrong paradigms
and stop minimising your achievements.
Submissive and obedient girls rarely make
history, get promotions, or salary increases.
Amiga, make "Healthy Noise", promote your
work and don’t be afraid to give your opinion.
Do not fear the no’s and use your digital
platforms as well as your ability to connect with
others.
With these final lines, I give you permission…
Brag all you want! You earned it.
A circle of people who honestly want the
absolute best for your development and have
similar objectives.
Being Bilingual is a Plus:
Embrace your identity and culture, including
your accent. When you speak another
language and are an immigrant, many barriers
may be encountered which will shake your self-
confidence. Do not allow it! Speaking another
language and coming from another culture is a
greatly misconstrued advantage which allows
you to market yourself better and reach more
people and other niche markets.
