Recently I was very
excited to be invited
to attend the hugely
extravagant Asian Curry
Awards
restaurant industry, honouring the dedication
and commitment of people who have helped
spread the love of curry throughout the UK,
ensuring that the sector continues to be the
vibrant and growing industry that it is today.
A brand new category within the Special
Recognition Awards, "Personality of the Year"
was introduced by Mr Yawar Khan, Chairman
and Founder of Asian Curry Awards and
Federation and I was honoured to be awarded
it. On presenting it, Mr Khan Said: “The award
was created to recognise Sarah's unique
background and story as a female chef and
mother in a predominantly male industry.
It was designed to recognise concepts of
entrepreneurship, innovation, motivation and
for a celebration of skills, vision and foresight.
Awards such as these are vitally important in
recognising and encouraging an individual’s
confidence and the motivation to set sights
higher".
I am a restaurateur, TV chef and owner of a
Gourmet Indian Event Catering business, but
above all I am a home cook, passionate about
feeding my family healthy and delicious, home-
cooked Indian food. Here, I share with you,
