Local Economic Development Company ( LEDCOM ) Ltd . is a leading local enterprise centre with a proven track record in local economic development .
A member of Enterprise NI , LEDCOM ’ s services range from business advice and planning , employability support through to conference facilities and business incubation facilities .
With a focus on customer service , LEDCOM works closely with partners including ; other enterprise centres , local & central government , further & higher education and the wider social economy to provide practical value for money local economic development solutions .
Its two business parks – Willowbank Business Park and LEDCOM Industrial Estate – provide flexible managed workspace facilities with incubation support packages for over 50 companies with 400 jobs and training places .
During its last financial year , LEDCOM was involved with initiatives which supported 1350 people , helped to create 300 new jobs and 57 new businesses and social enterprises through a series of programmes in the Mid and East Antrim and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council areas , including Business Startup advice , Social Entrepreneurship , and Community Engagement and Employability initiatives .
LEDCOM was the first local social enterprise under 50 employees to achieve accreditation under the UKwide Customer Service Excellence Standard .
It was also the first local enterprise centre and social enterprise under 25 employees to achieve Investors in People ( IiP ) Gold .
With a dedicated voluntary board of directors , LEDCOM was the first enterprise centre to be awarded the Queen ’ s Award for Voluntary Service , the highest UK award for a voluntary group .

Carrickfergus Enterprise was formed in 1981 as a result of mass job losses in the local area with the closure of a number of larger employers . Our ethos is very much what it is today , the creation of jobs and wealth within the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area and beyond .
As a Social Enterprise and a registered Charity we provide a range of services including the provision of workspace / office Accomodation ; mentoring and advice for start up and established businesses and access to professional conference and training facilities .
Our Meadowbank Road site is home to 35 businesses with 125 employees . Workspace includes a range of flexible workspace and high tech offices with access to key transport links and ample carparking on site .
We have been providing training and mentoring support to local businesses for over 30 years and have a clear understanding of the key issues faced by the small business sector .
We have developed a range of innovative and flexible business support initiatives including the Business Improvement Programme for established businesses and the Coastal Tourism Hub . The success of both have been built on the provision of flexible support when business needs it most and access to expert mentors in a range of areas of expertise .
