MOTORING
Renault’s Game-Changer
T
wenty years after inventing the world’s
first compact MPV with the Scénic,
Renault has reaffirmed the model’s
gamechanging status with the
unprecedented design of the AllNew Scénic
and All New Grand Scénic.
Continuing the design revolution that has
been taking place at Renault. Through recent
model introductions such as the all new
Mégane, Kadjar, the fourthgeneration Scénic
debuts a bold new style.
In the MPV segment, while also enhancing
the outstanding modularity that has been
paramount to the model’s previous three
generations.
Wider than the outgoing Scénic yet also
boasting a shorter rear overhang, the AllNew
Scénic has a fluid and elegant silhouette.
Sculptured sides and a distinctive belt line
towards the rear contribute to its ground
breaking style, but it is the standard fitment
of 20inch wheels across the range that is
perhaps the key factor in the seductive appeal
of the new Scénic. It certainly adds to the
Grand Scénic’s impressive road presence.
I drove the Grand Scénic which is a big
vehicle, it has sleek, sporty look and with
seven seats available inside it certainly is a
practical vehicle as well.
The 1600cc diesel engine drives the front
wheels through a six speed gearbox. I was
surprised how well this all works together on
a vehicle as big as the Grand Scénic.
The 130 bhp engine is smooth and it’s not
slow it will propel you from a standing start
to 60 Mph in
