CELEBRATING SUCCESS: FIFE COLLEGE RECOGNISES PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME GRADUATES

Fife College recently welcomed graduates from across various Professional Programmes courses to the Carnegie Conference Centre for the first-ever Celebrating Success event— an evening dedicated to recognising the achievements of those who have completed qualifications such as AAT, CMI, CIPD, PRINCE2, APM, and a wide range of SVQs.
The event brought together learners, their families, employers, and Fife College staff for an evening of recognition, certificate presentations, and networking. Hosted by Principal Jim Metcalfe, the celebration acknowledged the hard work, dedication and ambition shown by graduates balancing studies alongside work and home life.
Among the graduates was Karen Dyce, a Lecturer at Fife College, who completed a CMI Diploma. She spoke about the motivation behind taking on a new qualification:
“ I was looking to enhance my business knowledge and also support my future progression within the College. Professional development is always important, and every year I like to tackle new challenges.
I wanted to be part of a professional body again having been a CIPS member in my previous role as a buyer, so I appreciate how important it is to have a professional qualification.”
Karen also reflected on her experience as a learner:
“ It was brilliant. I found it very flexible as it was delivered online, which included great resources. Workshops were held that allowed us to network with each other and learn about different processes, environments, and best practices so it was a great opportunity to meet other professionals in different businesses.”
Karen’ s experience highlights the flexibility, relevance and practical benefit of these courses— designed to support career development while fitting around existing work and life commitments. Fife College’ s programmes combine academic knowledge with opportunities to apply learning in real-world contexts, making them perfect for professionals looking to upskill, take the next step in their careers, or even move into a new industry.
Speaking on the evening, Clare Hedges, Mid Scotland Branch Chair of CIPD, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue building on their success:
“ Qualifications like these are a great way to drive your career forward. They support your learning, development, and continued growth within your role. This, in turn, benefits your employer as you’ re gaining new skills and knowledge.
“ It’ s great that this kind of learning is celebrated after all the effort from both students and teaching staff. So, tonight is a great event and it’ s a nice way for the learners to round off their work as they obtain their certificate.”
The event celebrating learner achievements highlighted Fife College’ s focus on helping people gain real-world, business-ready skills. The College continues to develop and shape its training offering in line with workforce demand, while investing in its enterprise and partnerships teams to ensure employers and learners alike benefit from tailored, impactful programmes.
A drinks reception closed the evening, giving graduates the chance to reflect on their journey, reconnect with tutors and peers, and share the moment with those who supported them along the way.
ShapeIf you’ re ready to follow in their footsteps, you can take the next step in your professional journey through our range of industry-recognised qualifications and training opportunities.
