THERE WAS A time when people thought anyone suggesting opening a business in China was in cahoots with a government-run program . Fast-forward to today , and the idea of starting a business venture inside the mainland Asian giant is now considered both practical and necessary for any kind of international presence in the Pacific business theatre . Make no mistake , the Chinese government never stopped being involved in its markets , they have just taken a far more proactive role versus a regulatory one , which has in turn opened up a number of vast opportunities for international and Pacific businesses to work in .
