07 . Su-Tong Yangtze River Bridge
> $ 7.89 BILLION In 2008 , the world ’ s second longest cable bridge opened for traffic , spanning 1097 meters over the Yangtze River between the cities of Nantong and Changshu . The River Bridge has six lanes and two inverted bridge towers standing 306 meters ( making them the third tallest bridge towers in the world ). This bridge transports visitors from the economic zone of Yangtze River Delta to Nantong , the first of fourteen cities open to international trade and tourist centres . Commuting between Shanghai and Nantong is now a one-hour drive , compared to a four-hour ferry ride .
