Festival Medallion Hunt – 12 a . m . unofficial start , first clue released at 9 a . m . and second clue at 1 p . m . Thursday , Sept . 5 . Additional clues will be released at 9 a . m . and 1 p . m . Friday , Saturday and Sunday or until the medallion is found in a Burnsville city park . The winner will receive a prize package . Two clues daily will be released at Sun- Thisweek . com .
Food Truck Festival – 5-8 p . m ., Nicollet Commons Park / Ames Center Plaza . Part of the Kickoff Block Party .
Festival Kickoff Block Party – 5-8 p . m ., Nicollet Commons Park / Ames Center Plaza . Free kids activities , inflatables , music and dance contests with Kids Dance DJ ( kidsdance . com ) 5:30-8 p . m .
Craft Beer Tasting & Food Sampling – 6-8 p . m ., Heart of the City Parking Deck . Craft beers , spirits , seltzers and food and snack food sampling ; $ 10 donation

Free Bus Service – 3:35-11:50 p . m . MVTA free rides from the Burnsville Transit Station to the Heart of the Festival grounds . During fireworks , the bus will only pick up and drop off at Nicollet and Civic Center Parkway . The last bus directly from the Festival before the fireworks will depart the Burnsville Ice Center at 9:20 p . m . If you are leaving before the fireworks start and miss this last bus , walk to the Nicollet & Civic Center Parkway to catch bus back to Transit Station .
Carnival – 5-11 p . m ., Civic Center Park . Rides , games , and food . Rides and game tickets sold separately at Midwest Rides ticket booths .
Inflatable Zone – 5-8 p . m ., Civic Center Park . Seven jumbo inflatables for kids up to 10 years old ; $ 10 unlimited

Fire Truck Water Display – 6-10 p . m ., Civic Center Park . Minnesota Fire Engine Club will have owners of historical fire trucks on hand to talk about the trucks and equipment
Live music : Johnny Holm Band – 7:30- 11 p . m ., Main Stage - Civic Center Park . Holm has been making music for over 50 years recording original material and covering artists such as Van Morrison , Jimmy Buffet , the Beatles and more .
Friday Fireworks – 9:40-10 p . m ., Civic Center Park . Special tribute to Fallen Heroes in addition to musical accompaniment to fireworks .
