Dakota County provides opportunities for home ownership in Burnsville through down payment assistance and first-time homebuyer loans . The City supports residents through various workshops and programs for everything from weatherization to home improvements to gardening interests .

TRANSPORTATION

GETTING AROUND TOWN
Metro Transit ( metrotransit . org ) and the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority ( mvta . com ) operate bus service and numerous routes around town and from Minneapolis / St . Paul . The MVTA operates two Park & Ride lots in Burnsville – one at the Burnsville Transit Station ( 100 East Highway 13 ) and one in the Heart of the City Park & Ride Ramp ( 126th Street and Pillsbury Avenue ). Both Park & Ride locations have indoor climate-controlled waiting areas .
You can also find fast , frequent , all-day service with METRO lines serving the Burnsville area . The METRO Red Line travels from Apple Valley to the Mall of America and connects to the METRO Blue Line which can take riders into Minneapolis . The METRO Orange Line is currently in production and , once completed , will run from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis .
