Burleson ISD Career & Technical Education provides students with opportunities to earn business and industry certifications and licensures , including Certified Patient Care Technician , Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II , Emergency Medical Technician-Basic , Cosmetology , NCCER Core Curriculum for welding , and more .
Burleson ISD ’ s continued partnership with community businesses and organizations provides students with the opportunity to apply these certifications and gain firsthand experiences in high-demand career fields that can lead to potential career opportunities .
The mission of Burleson ISD is to engage and support every learner with a rigorous curriculum so that they graduate college and career ready . BISD serves more than 12,600 students at 18 campuses and employs approximately 1,800 staff .
Superintendent Bret Jimerson has led the helm of Burleson ISD since 2013 . He and his wife , Paige , have three daughters and a son attending schools in the Burleson ISD .
The board of trustees consists of seven members elected to serve , without compensation , for three years each . Elections are conducted in May every year . While candidates run for specific places , each represents Burleson ISD at large .
Trustees include President Jerri McNair , Place 6 ; Vice President Ryan Richardson , Place 3 ; Secretary Dallas Owen , Place 4 ; Shawn Minor , Place 1 ; Michael Ancy , Place 2 ; Staci Eisner , Place 5 ; and , Pat Worrell , Place 7 .

BURLESON HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER
The Burleson Higher Education Center serves as a higher learning institute at 517 S . W . Johnson Ave .
Hill College has also partnered with Texas Tech University , which now has a presence at the campus offering classes and degree plans for students attending Hill College at the Burleson Higher Education Center , as well as the community .
The city of Burleson , in conjunction with Hill College and Burleson ISD , has worked to expand higher education opportunities that , when combined with the Burleson Opportunity Fund and the Burleson Collegiate High School , ensure that every graduate and community member in Burleson and the surrounding area has access to quality higher education .
Hill College allows area residents to take college courses , complete degrees , receive job-related certifications and job training .
