Bunny Mad! Issue 29 joomag | Page 4

Lulu’s diary Meet Lulu, our mischievous little bunny. Each issue she will share with you her adventures with the Bunny Mad! family. June I have finally realised that when Mum tries to give me head rubs it’s not a game and time for me to run away… it’s actually quite nice! Mum says I’m hyperactive and that I will enjoy things more if I just calmed down a little. So just for her we are having daily strokes and quiet time. I can’t help myself sometimes though, when Mum gets in my way when I’m trying to have a run around. So I find the best way to get her to budge is to nip her ankles or give them a good digging… much to her dislike, but it does work. It’s been really hot but Mum is always prepared and we have had our fans on and our icepods. When we go outside Mum makes us some shade and I just love it when she hangs up the big blanket as I love to play with it and pull it down so I can make tunnels in it and hide. July Dad is still busy working on our house but it’s almost finished… didn’t he say that before?! Mum said I have my own 4 dog (bunny) flap so I will be able to let myself in and out but I will have to learn how to use it but you know me, I’m the clever one and can figure anything out with the help of a treat or two. Milly has learnt a new trick. If she scratches on her door long enough, Mum will bring her a treat. If Mum doesn’t come quick enough you can see Milly peaking from behind the door looking very annoyed! Mum can’t help but laugh! Mum has been a bit fed up as she was hoping to be working from home full time by now, but the sale of the family shop fell through after the buyers tried to scam them. Poor Mum, she had been busy helping them out, only to be treated so badly. Wish I could get my little paws on them. But she won’t let them win and is hoping they may have another buyer soon. We just want our Mum home and happy. We have had another visitor, this time a racing pigeon. He was waiting for Mum one day outside the front door. Mum knows a bit about racing pigeons as she grew up with them, so she thought he must be exhausted and got him some much needed food and water. The next few days he continued to visit until one day he didn't. Mum and Dad thought he must have flown home when Dad got a bit of shock one morning when he was greeted by him at the window. He was sat on the windowsill looking at Dad as if to say “Where’s my breakfast?!” Dad was over the moon and quickly got him some food. It’s been a week now and the pigeon… now named Lenny by Dad, is still here and doesn’t look like he’s about to leave anytime soon. He has a ring on that tells us that he is from the Netherlands, but they haven't been able to pick him up to have a look at his wings for an address stamp to say who he belongs to. But for now we are happy to take care of him. August Mum is so excited… today she finally finished at her job after the family business was sold, yay! Even better news is that our bunny house is ready for us to move in! I don’t know who is more excited, Mum or us? She has always wished we could live indoors but because of Dad’s allergies this has never been possible. So Mum wanted to make a space that would bring the indoors, outside. I think she has done a pretty good job of that. Whoever sees it can’t believe it’s a house for bunnies and not humans! She has bought us so much stuff and everything is new. We just have to wait for our bunny furniture to arrive from Manor Pet Housing for our run areas and Dad has promised me he is going to build me a sand pit, as I’ve heard so many bunnies say how much fun they are. We feel very privileged as not all bunnies are us lucky as us!
