Welcome to our new e-Magazine. We do hope you like the new look and find it a really useful resource to refer back to time and time again. Each issue we’ll be covering a topic from all stages of the parenting experience to make sure that there’s something for everyone, the theme this issue is food, including pregnancy cravings, tales of weaning, and notes on mealtimes with multiple children. We’ve also got some sample menus to give you inspiration, and some delicious recipes for you to try! We (the branch) are made up solely of local parents (just like you) who volunteer a little of their time and whilst we may have been a little quiet of late, we have still been really busy over the past year and this edition of branch news looks at the Staines, Ashford & Egham NCT Branch: Past, Present and Future…

Baby Cinema is back – Sunday 14th February 2016
Back in March we put on our first ever Baby Cinema event. This took place in The Village Centre, Englefield Green, and was really well received by those parents who attended with their extremely well behaved babies. The Imitation Game was a great choice of film as it had only just been released to DVD and no one had had the opportunity to watch it yet.
We are excited to be hosting yet another film, this time on Valentine's
Day, 2pm, again in The Village Centre. If you are in need of a long overdue date with your other half, or just want an afternoon doing something different, meeting other local parents in the process then our latest Baby Cinema is just the ticket!
To book your place at the Baby Cinema on Sunday 14th February, (£8 for a couples, an individual costs £4.50), then please use this link for secure online purchases There will be an opportunity to purchase refreshments on the day and all proceeds go to the NCT Charity.
NCT Cheeky Monkey’s
Tea Party
On Saturday 6th June 2015, the Staines, Ashford & Egham Branch hosted a Cheeky Monkey’s Tea Party which raised an incredible £470.81 for the NCT. We are so grateful to all the local families who supported us and we were lucky with a dry but breezy summer’s day where local parents brought their little ones and enjoyed a picnic, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts activities and a ride on the steam train (see photo!).
Commercial Park, in Staines, where the party took place was really busy. Many parents also helped us through baking cakes to sell, donating gifts and buying tickets for our raffle. A massive thank you must go to Sam Fowler who coordinated the organisation of the day and also the Staines Society of Model Engineers who donated all of their takings for the day to the Branch. Fingers crossed, with enough volunteers, we can replicate this fantastic day during 2016!
