North Carolina
Q : Which was more nerve racking , the BullShooter Finals or the BullShooter Invitational Shootout ?
Alex : 100 % the ESPN Shootout . As mentioned , the others were fun but the Invitational was much more serious and wasn ’ t just about us , but about representing our game to a wider audience .
Q : What do you have coming up in the future ?
At the BullShooter South Carolina Regional , Shea Cole & Alex took home 1st in Mixed Doubles .
someone throwing a punch right back at you , it ’ s going to be extremely difficult to make it to that level , expecially now . The bar is constantly being raised .
BullShooter Regionals ...
Q : How was your experience playing at the South Carolina Regional ?
Alex : This is an event I played for fun as it was a couple hours from the house . No expectations , treating it as a dart vacation . That always helps with the quality of play . During COVID was when my game started to really take off and I wanted to explore the Soft tip world a little bit to see if I wanted to do it more knowing I ’ d be traveling a lot for Steel as well .
Q : How was your experience at the BullShooter Finals in May ? You did pretty well with a 2nd in Pro 501 Singles , 3rd in Pro AA 501 Doubles with Sidney Vaughn and a 2nd in Super 13 ” Toilet Bowl Singles .
Alex : This was my first time at the Finals and I had a great time and will definitely be back ! Went to have some fun , not take it too seriously to see how I liked it and it was a great success .
Alex : Too much ! Nothing Soft-Tip in the immediate future , but CDC events , Dart Players North Carolina events , WADA , DPFL , State Championships , Ghost on the Coast . I don ’ t have very many free weekends the rest of the year . But the big one is January when I head to Q-School . Not sure yet if it will be the UK or European event yet though .
Q : Is there a home bar you ’ d like to mention ?
Alex : Upper Deck in Cary , North Carolina . They are primarily Steel players but if you show up on a Friday night , you very easily could run into : Myself , PJ Stewart Jr ., Robbie Phillips , Stephen Phillips , Dan Naylor and Brian Blake .
All National Champions in some form , all playing in the same small area . Toughest area in the country , no surprise our guys are doing what they do .
Q : Anything else you ’ d like to share with your fellow dart players ?
Alex : I can ’ t get better if you aren ’ t getting better with me . We need to push each other to get to the next level . So don ’ t put people down , bring them up with you !
