DAVE SCHULTZ BIG KAHUNA Dave Schultz , original Tournament Director of Arachnid 360 , passed away November 14 , 2022 .
When people think about the BullShooter Tour , many can ’ t help thinking about the Tournament Director Dave Schultz or maybe better known as “ Big Kahuna ”. Dave began working for Arachnid 360 in 1988 driving across the nation for Qualifying Regionals . He often ran or assisted in many state and large tournaments . Averaging 32 weeks a year on the road , and 25 years as Tournament Director , Dave met , made many friends , and had many memorable times that he shared with countless dart players . Dave started playing darts in 1981 at State Street Station in Rockford , Illinois . He was encouraged to play darts by his sister Nancy Hodges and his brother-in-law and best friend , Bobby Hodges . Dave played against some of the best players in the area like Scott North , Steve “ Doc ” Johnson , Jim Dickinson , Milly Smith , and Nancy Hodges . Dave said “ My two most memorable wins were the Pro Singles title in Madison , WI , in 1987 , and the third-place finish at my first TBI Open in 1984 . That was my first dart trophy .” The most enjoyment Dave had while playing darts was with Jim Dickinson who was his Men ’ s Doubles partner for many years . They were known as the “ Billboard Brothers .” Dave and Jim went on to win the Regional in Des Moines , IA in 1986 . The last year he played in leagues as a regular was in 1988 for Foxy ’ s Lounge , in Rockford , IL . The team consisted of Dave , Sam Zammuto , Steve Johnson and Wally Meredith and they went on to win the master ’ s league that same year . Even though Dave put in many long hours including most of the weekends during tournament season , when he did get time off , Dave loved to play golf . With all his traveling , he has been able to play at some of the best courses in the U . S .
We will miss you Dave ... Chop , Chop !
